Born in Cairo, in her early teens Mona’s family moved and resided in the USA, and later she moved and resided in Canada. As a child, Mona claimed she was ‘born to fly’ and pursued her belief by joining the airline industry as a flight attendant, which gave her the opportunity to travel around the world. Mona joined GAC Qatar in 2008 as an Asset Management and Security Executive, and played a key role in driving the strategic HSSE programme. This included working with the GAC Qatar management team to conduct a widespread HSSE awareness and training campaign. Mona has since returned to Canada and now works as a professional trainer.
Mona discovered her passion and natural competency for teaching when she was offered her first opportunity to be an inflight safety manager in the airline. To enhance her career and skills, she completed various training courses including Train the Trainer, Leadership Techniques and Leaders’ Psychology, ISO28001 Security Lead Auditor, IOSH Safety Management System, Advanced First Aid and Fire Fighting. These qualifications ensure that Mona is expertly equipped to teach on a range of GCA courses.
Mona’s extensive HSSE experience and her love of teaching, position her as a valuable subject matter expert in the GCA facilitation team. Mona has been facilitating HSSE and played an active role in the ongoing development of the course since May 2011. She also brings her experience in GAC to the facilitation of Air Freight Operations (AFO), Ocean Freight Operations (OFO) and Freight Forwarding Fundamentals (FFF) courses.
